So, for your problem. You've gotta take a knife or a small screwdriver and lever the upper inside part of the fan regulator. It will then slide off very easily. That's it. Good luck and success

Just take a small screwdriver and use it as a lever. You can also use a knife, but you have to be careful, otherwise you can damage the plastic with the sharp side of the knife.
